My World Was, is, Will be
by Ross Rivera
My world was a troubling full of trife and grief.
It spilled with hate, contagious to every flaw
Was ideal, every one could feel,
everyone wasn't equal,
what were they thinking?
My world is a better place
A Black man's the head of state
Hope I can create
peace once and for all
nothing hard to conquer
maybe it's cause
anything's possible
maybe it's a dream
or maybe an illusion
maybe cause I came to a conclusion
maybe we're equal
maybe there will be a sequel
My World by Eugene Jenkins
My world was always upside down
I wish that it would turn around
My world is now right side up
Unlike back then, it's not that rough
My wrld will be so successful
Now it would be so painful
Poem for Black Folks
by Nicholas Fisher
My world was torn apart by racism, war, protests
No world peace, violence, drugs, sex
no end up in fight and daddy not home
My world is messed up due to the recession
but also happy because my president is Black
My world is hip hop to classic rock
to Far Rock where danger is around
My world will be to graduate High School
And, the first to graduate college in my family
My world will be to be a pro athlete, comedian,
lawyer, and parent as well
One day my world will be to see the Knicks
win a Championship
My will will be-- Who Knows cause times up!
My Shining Star
You're just like the star in the sky
The light in my life
You're the song in my heart
The joy in my ride
I believe you are my angel, the one
Like a dove in the light as it fly
Your voice speaks of courage and bravery
Days go by when i reminisce about my life
The wind takes me away on it's shoulders
far away
The night gets dark as the evening says
goodnight to all
As we sleep the guardian angel watches
over us
Good night to all may God be with
us

I
live in a world where you have to be your own strength,
Because
everybody is trying to pull you down from different directions.
I
live in a world where it is hard to trust: because people take what they want and leave.
I
live in a world where it is hard to open up, because everybody around you is close minded.
I
live in a world where change can never happen because everything around you is a cycle.
I
live in a world where nobody can be unique because it is a sin.
A
world where everyone thinks their different but yet they are alike.
A
world where everyone looks the same, feels the same, walks the same, and talks the same.
I
live in a world where people are robots, controlled by “THE MAN”
I
live in a world where no one sees the cycle.
A
world where nobody moves and everybody stays at a standstill.
A
world where nobody can explain but yet they just do.
A
world where nobody is your friend and everybody is your enemy.
A
world where you must be fake to make a living.
